Tongues in Trees

Malcolm Green will lead a workshop exploring stories of the land around the beautiful surroundings of Burnlaw. Nature is full of stories whether it be the coming of the cuckoo, an old folktale, the memory of a particular encounter or the ‘what might have happened’ story of an ancient site.
In this workshop we shall both listen to and tell stories inspired by place and by nature. The day is suitable for anyone interested in telling stories in and out of doors. Please bring suitable clothing for roaming along muddy paths.
No experience necessary. We will be happy to arrange shared transport, once we know who is coming…
The workshop is a part of A Bit Crack Storytelling’s ‘Dreaming the Land’ Project.
Cost £60 full price and £40 concessions.
Please bring food to share for lunch.
Contact Malcolm on email: trokki@outlook.com or tel: 07527933485 for further details.
Malcolm has been working as a storyteller, specialising in stories of nature and place since the 1980’s. For the last three years he has been touring a show called ‘Shearwater’ with musician Tim Dalling and they are presently working on a new piece, ‘Cuckoo’ in collaboration with the British Trust for Ornithology. He is the author of Northumberland Folk Tales and teaches widely.
